The local people used to call it the Long House (Pikk Maja). The Long House has been the main building of the Hiiumaa Museum since 1998. The museum, along with a fun playroom and a souvenir shop, is open all year round. There are various bigger and smaller exhibitions on display; and the exhibitions are exchanged for new ones several times during the year. The theme of the year in Hiiumaa in 2024 is art; and a related exhibitions are open in the Long House. The exhibition rooms are located on two floors. On the first floor, there is a hall, along with three exhibition rooms, the playroom, and the souvenir shop.
