THE STORY OF MIHKLI FARM
The farm complex consists of eight historic buildings, an outdoor kitchen with a large terrace, and cultivated garden and field areas.
In the buildings, most of which date from the 19th century, visitors can explore local building traditions and household items once used in everyday life. Surrounded by forests, the farmstead offers a vivid impression of what rural life on Hiiumaa looked like more than a century ago. The last residents left the farm in 1987. Until their deportation in 1781, the farm was inhabited by the Swedish-speaking population of Hiiumaa.
EVENTS AND VENUE HIRE
The spacious farmyard is well suited for organising events, weddings, seminars, workshops and other gatherings. The site includes a covered outdoor terrace accommodating up to 45 people and a modern outdoor kitchen for catering. Mihkli Farm Museum’s traditional smoke sauna is also available for private hire.
