The Mihkli Farm Museum is situated in Malvaste Village in northern Hiiumaa and is the perfect example of the rural architecture of that region.

The farm ensemble consists of 8 historical buildings and an outdoor kitchen with a big terrace. This summer, all guests will also be greeted by some sheep and goats. There are a vegetable garden and a grain field in the farmyard. This is a place where time stands still.

In the buildings, most of which date from the 19th century, the visitor can learn about local building practices and household items. A farmyard in the middle of forests makes the visitors feel as if they were entering a different world – time stands still here, and so does history. The last inhabitants of this farm left in 1987. Until the year 1781, when the big deportation took place, it was the home of some Hiiumaa Swedes.

The farm’s spacious yard is the perfect place for various kinds of events, such as weddings, seminars, workshops, and other interesting initiatives. In the yard, there is an outdoor terrace, providing shelter for up to 45 people; as well as a modern kitchen for preparing food. A spiritual experience can be enjoyed in an authentic smoke sauna, which can also be rented separately.
