Rudolf Tobias, the founder of Estonian classical music, spent most of his childhood in this very house – now known as a house museum dedicated to him and located here, in Hiiumaa. This building, built in the first half of the 19th century, is one of the few remaining houses of this kind in Estonia. It is a townhouse that has retained some features of a farmhouse. Currently, there is an exhibition about the famous composer’s life in Estonia, Saint Petersburg, and Berlin on display in the house museum.

The Tobias yard is an excellent location for outdoor events. There is a lovely picnic place here, as well as a view of the bird bay. The Tobias House Museum is located on the edge of Käina borough, by Käina Bay. The centre of the borough is about one kilometre away.
